COLLEGE PARK, MD – Sophomore Milan Pierre-Jerome was named to the Haitian National team set to begin training this month. Pierre-Jerome and her teammates will convene in the Dominican Republic beginning February 13 as the squad looks to prepare for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Pierre-Jerome has participated in past camps and World Cup qualifying games, including the U17 World Cup qualifiers, the U20 World Cup in 2018 and has also competed for the senior Haitian women’s team.

“This opportunity is a blessing that I thank God for,” said Pierre-Jerome. “Due to my past ACL tear and the COVID pandemic, I haven’t been able to play with the Haitian national team for the past two years. I’m so excited to be able to play and reunite with my teammates after such a long time. I’m thankful for this opportunity and I am ready to get to work in the Dominican Republic. The ultimate goal is to continue making history with Haiti and continue the legacy that began with the men’s program in 1974, when they qualified for the World Cup. Now our goal is to have the women qualify for the World Cup in 2023!”

Pierre-Jerome has seen action in 14 games for the Terps during her Maryland career while making four starts.
