America East Release

2021 All-Conference Teams

BOSTON – One day after clinching a spot in the 2021 America East Tournament, the University at Albany secured three spots on the America East’s All-Conference Teams.  Jasmine Colbert and Olivia Piraino were named to the All-Conference First Team and, Cassandra Coster was named All-Rookie.

Colbert, a striker from Freehold, N.J., earns her second-straight First Team honor, having been named America East Striker of the Year during the 2021 spring season.  Colbert leads the Great Danes with eight goals and 17 points, and ranks second in the America East in both categories.

Piraino, a midfielder from Niskayuna, N.Y., earns her first All-Conference First Team honor, after being named All-Rookie and Second-Team during the 2021 spring season as a freshman.  Piraino has scored three goals and recorded one assist this season as the team’s second-leading scorer, and netted the game-winner that sent the Great Danes to the postseason.

Coster, a goalkeeper from Poughquag, N.Y., was UAlbany’s lone representative on the All-Rookie team.  Since filling in for Sophia Chen between the posts, Coster has gone 4-3-3 overall and recorded four shutouts.  In her 10 appearances, Coster now leads the America East in save percentage and ranks third in goals-against average.

Major awards will be announced Tuesday, November 2 at 3:00 pm.

UAlbany will host five-seed Binghamton in the America East quarterfinal round on Sunday, October 31 at 3:00 pm.
