No. 1 Washington Visits Cal Thursday

SEATTLE – The No. 1 Washington Huskies head down to the Bay Area to take on California on Thursday afternoon. Kickoff from Edwards Stadium is set for 3 p.m. and airing on Pac-12 Network.
 
The Huskies (12-0-2, 4-0-1 Pac-12) are on top of the polls for the fourth straight week to set a program record for the longest streak at No. 1 in the nation. Washington is one of three unbeaten teams left in the country, joining Duke and Kentucky.
 
THE LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies remained undefeated following a 1-1 draw at Oregon State on Oct. 21. Nate Jones scored the game-tying goal in the 86^th minute off the corner kick by Chris Meyers.
 
UW-CAL HISTORY
Washington leads the all-time series against Cal, 37-20-10. In Berkeley, the Huskies hold a 16-10-4 advantage over the Golden Bears. In conference action, Washington is 21-12-5.
 
Earlier this season, Washington earned the 1-0 victory over Cal at Husky Soccer Stadium with Gio Miglietti’s game-winning goal in the 75th minute.
 
CAL SCOUTING REPORT
Cal sits at 3-6-5 on the season with a 1-4-2 mark in Pac-12 play. Fahmi Ibrahim leads the team with six goals on the season, while Juan Martinez and Wyatt Meyer have a pair of assists for the team lead.

As a team, Washington leads the conference in assists per game (3.07), goal differential (+30), points per game (8.21), save percentage (82.4%), scoring offense (2.57), total assists (43), total goals (36), total points (115) and win-loss-tied percentage (92.9%).

Individual, Lucas Meek is the Pac-12 leader in goals per game (0.64), points per game (1.86), total assists (8), total goals (9) and total points (26). Chris Meyers leads the conference in assists per game (0.62), while Ilijah Paul leads in shot accuracy (62.1%).

 

ROAD DAWGS

The Huskies are on a 14-match unbeaten streak on the road with a 12-0-2 record dating back to the 2021 season. This season Washington is 4-0-1 in away contests with wins over South Florida, Grand Canyon, San Diego State and then-No. 21 UCLA.
