Manchester United have agreed in principle to a deal to sign Christian Eriksen, while Chelsea are focusing on landing Raheem Sterling and Raphinha according to reports.
The Blues had been linked with United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo after he requested to leave the Red Devils.
However, Sky Sports is reporting that Chelsea have their sights firmly set on landing Sterling from Manchester City, with talks advanced on a deal.
It is believed that an agreement between the two clubs on a fee is close, although Sterling is yet to settle to personal terms.
The Blues are also keen on Leeds United winger Raphinha but face stiff competition from Barcelona.
Ronaldo was absent as United players returned for pre-season training on Monday with new manager Erik ten Hag at the helm.
The talk is that the 37-year-old Portuguese star wants to play UEFA Champions League football this season and doesnt believe United are capable of challenging for silverware either.
United are getting closing to signing Eriksen after spending six months with Brentford following his release from Inter Milan.
The 30-year-old Danish midfielder knows ten Hag well, having trained with his former club Ajax during his recovery following a cardiac arrest at last year’s Euro 2020.
Eriksen has reportedly agreed to join United on a three-year deal, with a medical to come.
The former Tottenham star made 11 appearances for Brentford last term, with only Kevin De Bruyne and Martin Odegaard creating more chances in the Premier League during that period.
