Liverpool land Burnley centre back, 19
Liverpool have moved to add another young centre back to their ranks with Noah Adekoya from Burnley.
The 19-year old has progressed through Burnley’s academy to sign his first professional deal last October. The Liverpudlian captained Burnley to the U18 Professional Development League North title last season.
He previously spent time on trial with Liverpool in 2018. He will join the club’s development squad who are also bringing in new signings, Senegalese centre back Mor Ndiaye and Austrian Ifeanyi Ndukwe, in the summer.
Watford in talks over signing midfielder Bove – a year after Roma star’s cardiac arrest
Watford have held talks over a potential deal for Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove, who suffered a cardiac arrest just over a year ago.
Bove, who is only 23, was a big favourite of Jose Mourinho‘s during his time coaching at Roma but the Italy U21 international almost lost his life when he collapsed with a cardiac arrest on December 1, 2024, while playing on loan at Fiorentina against Inter Milan.
Bove was fitted with an implanted cardioverter defibrillator, similar to that of former Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen, but that means he is unable to play in Serie A any longer owing to their stricter regulations.
However, he can play in the Netherlands or in the UK and is in the process of cancelling his contract by mutual consent with Roma.
He will become a free agent and Watford have been approached about taking him on a short term contract.
