After Bournemouth emphatically ended their unbeaten run last weekend, Newcastle United make the long trip down to Southampton in a bid to return to winning ways.
The Magpies were stunned by Andoni Iraola’s Cherries in the early kick-off as Justin Kluivert netted a hat-trick in a 4-1 away win. Before that, Eddie Howe’s men had won eight straight in all competitions.
Despite falling to sixth in the Premier League table, Newcastle are well in the mix to claim a top-four spot. They’ve also got a great opportunity to dash their demons from last Saturday against the league’s bottom outfit.
Southampton remain rooted at the foot of the table and are yet to claim a league triumph under Ivan Juric. The Saints have arguably been more competitive under the journeyman Serie A coach, but their six-point haul through 22 games means they require a miracle to remain in the Premier League.
