NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After final results across the league, Vanderbilt soccer has secured the five seed in the 2024 SEC Tournament. The Commodores are slated to face 12th-seeded Alabama in the opening round, which will take place on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Florida.
Vanderbilt, which currently is 9-2-6 (4-2-4 SEC), returns to the beach after missing a tournament bid during the 2023 campaign. The Commodores have appeared in the SEC tournament 23 times in program history.
Vandy will look to top the Crimson Tide after Alabama eliminated the Dores in the second round of the 2022 tournament in a 2-1 decision. It will be the fourth time the programs have met in the conference postseason tournament, and second occasion in the opening round.
