Tennessee Soccer Falls to Kentucky on the Road, 4-0

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Tennessee soccer dropped a match on the road, falling 4-0 to Kentucky.

UT (7-5-4, 2-4-3) put up six shots on frame but was unable to break through.

UK (11-3-4, 3-3-4) was led offensively by Makala Woods who registered a hat trick as Sophia Mattice and Maddie Kemp added a pair of goal contributions.

The Wildcats struck early after capitalizing on a corner kick. The ball found Mattice inside the box, who was then able to poke it in the net.

Kentucky’s next two goals of the first half came from Woods in the 20th and 40th minutes.

Keaton Mitchell and Leah Klurman each created first-half chances for the Lady Vols but Kentucky’s Marz Josephson notched a pair of saves.

Reese Mattern tried to get something going for the Big Orange early in the second half, sending a shot on target in the 55th minute.

Just two minutes later, the Wildcats added their fourth and final goal of the night after Kemp found Woods in the box.

Tennessee then put up three more shots on frame to try and add some late-game pressure.

UP NEXT: Tennessee will close out the regular season Wednesday as the head on the road to Florida for a 7 p.m. ET match.
