Arizona Falls to TCU on the Road

FORT WORTH, Texas – Arizona Soccer ended their weekend on the road with a 0-1 conference loss to TCU (7-2-1, 2-0-1). 

The Cats and the Horned Frogs were deadlocked at 0-0 in a back-and-forth game for 66 minutes before TCU was able to score in the 67th minute, giving them the lead. 

Arizona was able to get two looks in the first 45 minutes, with a shot on goal from Nicole Dallin in the 16th minute, and a shot from Aranda Hurge in the 40th. 

In just the first half, Arizona goalkeeper Olivia Ramey saved three shots on goal. She saved one more shot in the second half to total 27 saves this season. Entering Sunday’s match, Arizona stood at number two in the Big 12 with the fewest goals allowed with four, just behind No. 24 Oklahoma State with two. 

In the second half of the match, Arizona had just one shot from freshman defender Kennedy Fletcher in the 74th minute. 

Arizona is now 6-3-1 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play. 

The Cats will return home to Mulcahy Soccer Stadium for matches on Thursday, Sept. 26 against Cinncinati (7:00 p.m. MST) and Sunday, Sept. 29 against West Virginia (11:30 a.m. MST).
