Any club wishing to sign Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez during the summer transfer window will have to agree a package deal worth at least £75m. according to a report.
The Argentina international was the second-most used Cityzens player in all competitions last season and helped Pep Guardiola to another Premier League title with 11 goals and nine assists in the division.
Alvarez started 31 league games during the 2023/24 campaign but is thought to desire more regular first-team football. His first-choice destination is reportedly Real Madrid, while Barcelona president Joan Laporta wants to sign the forward alongside City teammate Erling Haaland as part of his re-election campaign.
However, The Athletic claim City will not allow him to leave on the cheap. The English champions want around £60m on top of £17m in add-ons for the 24-year-old, who is also desired by Atletico Madrid.
Diego Simeone’s side are not willing to stretch that far to land Alvarez, while Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have also been touted as potential landing spots if a summer exit does materialise.
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has already admitted he does not expect City to allow the World Cup winner to depart this summer.
City are already worried over the future of mainstay goalkeeper Ederson, with Guardiola recently admitting the Brazil international is weighing up his options this summer.
However, the former Barcelona boss gave a more decisive rebuttal when he declared midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne will not be leaving the Etihad Stadium this summer.
In terms of incoming transfers, City have already announced their first signing of the window in the form of 20-year-old winger Savinho, who spent last season on loan at Girona from Troyes. The two clubs are part of the City Football Group.
