It’s becoming more and more expensive to be a football fan.

Whether it be the soaring cost of TV subscriptions or the egregious price of replica shirts, modern football is designed to exploit supporters at every opportunity. That is certainly the case when it comes to the increasing price of season tickets, especially in England’s top division.

Premier League fans are made to pay dearly for their team’s success, with prices generally getting higher in southern regions of the country. For many match-going supporters, it’s soon to become truly unaffordable.

As was the case for the 2023/24 season, the Premier League’s north London sides boast the priciest adult season tickets when it comes to the cheapest option each club provides. Arsenal lead the way by some margin, with their lowest price an eye-watering £1,073. That works out at approximately £56 per home game.

Tottenham aren’t too far behind at £856 – a 6.1% increase on last year’s prices. The Lilywhites are followed by their west London foes Chelsea, with fans splashing out a minimum of £810 to attend all 19 home matches. They will be hoping for better performances than they saw last season.

Liverpool (£713) and Newcastle United (£662) close out the top five, although the former has only raised prices by 2.0%. Still, two of the division’s most loyal fanbases are having their wallets drained.
