Women’s Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State women’s soccer head coach Jeff Hosler announced 2024 schedule for the back-to-back Big Ten champions Thursday. The 18-game regular season schedule features 12 games at DeMartin Stadium and includes 10 2023 NCAA Tournament teams.

“This will be the toughest schedule in our program’s history,” said Hosler. “Not only because of the strong newcomers into our conference, but with an incredibly challenging non-conference slate that features three nationally ranked top 15 teams and others that were conference champions in recent years.”

MSU opens the 2024 season on the road on Aug. 15, completing a home-and-home series at Notre Dame after falling to the Fighting Irish in a close contest in East Lansing in 2023. The Spartans then begin a six-match home stretch beginning with SEC foe Arkansas on Aug. 22, who MSU last faced in Fayetteville in 2022. MSU then hosts its 2023 NCAA Tournament first-round opponent and 2023 MAC Tournament champion Ohio on Aug. 25, followed by home games against Ole Miss (Aug. 29), 2023 BIG EAST champion Xavier (Sept. 1), and Queens (Sept. 5). The Spartans wrap up non-conference action against Loyola Chicago on Sept. 8.

After three weeks at home, the Spartans open the conference portion of their schedule on the road against Maryland on Sept. 12. 2023 Big Ten co-champion Nebraska will visit DeMartin Stadium on Sept. 19 before MSU is back on the road for a pair of matches at Penn State (Sept. 22) and Ohio State (Sept. 26). The Spartans then return home to host Rutgers on Sept. 29 before welcoming rival Michigan on Oct. 5. The Spartans set the DeMartin Stadium attendance record (3,022) in their last home game against the Wolverines during the 2022 season.

The Spartans head west to take on two of the conference’s newest members beginning Oct. 10 at Oregon and will complete their trip on Oct. 13 at Washington. The regular season ends with a three-game home stretch against Wisconsin (Oct. 17), Northwestern (Oct. 20) and Purdue (Oct. 27).

The 2024 Big Ten Tournament begins Oct. 31 and concludes with the championship game on Nov. 10.

Television and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
