COLUMBUS – The Crew lost 2-0 against Charlotte FC in tonight’s road match at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

Midfielder Darlington Nagbe played in his 106th consecutive regular season match, a streak that dates to May 1, 2021, with the Black & Gold. Nagbe currently holds the second-longest stretch in appearances made in MLS regular season play.

Charlotte’s opening goal in the 83rd minute marked the first time in 2024 that the Crew have trailed across all competitions. In MLS play, the Black & Gold sustained 442 consecutive minutes without facing a deficit, the Club’s second-longest such streak to begin a season (598 in 2020). Including Concacaf Champions Cup, the Club hadn’t trailed in 622 consecutive minutes this year.

The Black & Gold did not score for the first time across all competitions since their match at Houston on Aug. 30, 2023. It snapped a scoring streak of 20 consecutive matches, including postseason, with 41 goals netted during that stretch.

Goalkeeper Evan Bush played in his first match of the 2024 season, marking his first appearance in MLS play since October 3, 2021. It was his 189th career appearance and start in MLS play.
