2023/24 UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final & semi-final draws revealed

The landscape of the 2023/24 UEFA Women’s Champions League knockout stages has been settled by a draw for the quarter-final and semi-finals on Tuesday.

After an enthralling group stage laden with some stunning football, surprise results and shock eliminations, the competition has been cranked up a notch. Reigning holders Barcelona may have needed a 96th-minute equaliser against Benfica to preserve their unbeaten record in the group stage but they remain the favourites to retain their crown. Norwegian side SK Brann drew the short straw with a quarter-final tie against Barcelona.

Chelsea, the only remaining representatives of the English Women’s Super League, also emerged from the first round unscathed by defeat and are up against Dutch giants Ajax in the final eight.

The winner of Brann and Barcelona’s quarter-final will face the victor of Chelsea and Ajax’s tie, potentially setting up a repeat of the 2021 Champions League final. Barcelona thrashed Chelsea 4-0 in Gothenburg that day.

Benfica acquitted themselves well in a group with Barcelona and will not be preparing for anything easier when they come up against record champions Lyon in the quarters. PSG’s reward for topping a wild Group C is a tie against Swedish outfit Hacken. The behemoths of French football, Lyon and PSG, met in the 2022 Champions League semi-finals – a fixture that could repeat itself two years later.

Here’s a full rundown of intriguing set of matches that will grace this season’s Champions League knockout stages.
