Pablo Fornals’ transfer to Real Betis has been AGREED… meaning West Ham may be forced to make a new signing to bolster their attack before tonight’s 11pm deadline

West Ham will say goodbye to Pablo Fornals before the transfer window closes as his switch to Real Betis has been agreed for €8million (£6.8m).

Fornals has been a great servant to West Ham since signing in 2019 – helping secure the club’s place in the Europa Conference League final last season with his added-time winner against AZ Alkmaar.

However, the 27-year-old has struggled to pitch-time this season – starting just four Premier League games under David Moyes, falling further down the West Ham pecking order.

Therefore, Fornals is hoping the move to Real Betis will increase his minutes – with the LaLiga side currently sitting seventh in the table, two points behind Real Sociedad.

If he and Said Benrahma both leave this club, it’s reasonable to suggest West Ham will look to sign a new player before tonight’s 11pm deadline to help bolster their attack.

West Ham have agreed a £15m fee for Said Benrahma with Lyon, though there is work still to be done before the deal is finalised as revealed on Tuesday’s It’s All Kicking Off – Transfer Week podcast.

Benrahma has yet to decide if he wants to leave for France’s Ligue 1, but a move would see him reunited with former manager Manuel Pellegrini.

West Ham are facing a busy end to the January transfer window as David Moyes is desperate to add to his attack, particularly if Benrahma and Fornals depart.
