The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today the Week 9 Players of the Week winners.
The Texas Outlaws earned wins up top and in the box this week. Forward Luiz Morales earned the offensive honors for the second time this season after his dominant performance in Utica. His three goals, his fifth hat trick of the season, helped the Outlaws defeat the Riggies. Goalkeeper Eduardo “Pollo” Cortes came away with the Goalkeeper of the Week award in a game against last week’s winning goalkeeper. Pollo made 21 saves in the five-lead change overtime game. Pollo’s save percentage is tied for second in the league as Texas now sits second in the Western Conference.
Milwaukee Wave’s Marcio Leite earned the defensive honors for the second straight week. This week his show contained one assist, three goals, and four blocks in the win over Dallas Sidekicks. He now boasts the second highest points per game average in the league at 2.8.
