SEASIDE, California – Monterey Bay Football Club (Monterey Bay F.C.) announces today that the Club has agreed to transfer forward Sam Gleadle to Eastern Conference side Louisville City FC for an undisclosed transfer fee ahead of the 2024 USL Championship regular season.

Gleadle played in 57 matches (47 starts) in all competitions for the Crisp-and-Kelp, making appearances at multiple positions for Head Coach Frank Yallop during his time in Seaside, both in the attack and on the outside of the defensive back line. Over the past two seasons, Gleadle contributed a total of 14 goals, nine assists, and 53 chances created for the Union in 4,248 minutes across all competitions. Co-winner of the Club’s inaugural Golden Boot award in 2022, Gleadle represented Monterey Bay in the league’s Team of the Week on six total occasions during his tenure at the club.

“My time at Monterey Bay will always hold a special place in my heart,” said Gleadle. “The way the community embraced my family and I was something special and we will be forever grateful for that. We had ups and downs on the pitch, but I hope I leave you all with the knowledge that I gave 110% every time I put on the Crisp-and-Kelp kit. This opportunity presented to my family and I was something I could not say no to, as I am always trying to advance my career as much as possible. The good part is, we get to play against each other every year, so I’ll see everyone soon. I wish the Monterey Bay fans and the club nothing but the best.”
