The club is thrilled to announce the return of all time appearance leader Ualefi “Wally” Dos Reis, who joined the program for its inaugural season in 2019, pending league and federation approval. He is the longest-tenured Red Wolves player in club history and captained nearly every game in the 2023 season.
Across 30 games in the 2023 season, Ualefi recorded 2,316 minutes with 29 starts. He had 23 tackles won, 23 clearances, 8 blocks, and 23 interceptions. Dos Reis also had 944 successful passes with a 85.6 passing accuracy and 16 successful dribbles.
On Saturday, August 26th Ualefi became the first player in Chattanooga Red Wolves SC history to make 100 appearances for the club. On this day, the Red Wolves snagged a point against South Georgia Tormenta FC after Ualefi’s teammate Ropapa Mensah found the late equalizer in extra time to make it 4-4. Dos Reis was honored before the game and presented with a framed jersey from General Manager, Sean McDaniel marking his 100th cap for the club.
On what the São Paolo native brings to the organization, head coach Scott Mackenzie says, “Ualefi Dos Reis is Mr. Chattanooga. He is coming off a great personal season in which he grew in quality and consistency, and I know he is hungry and motivated to bring silverware to Chattanooga. Wally comes back once again as club captain and we are all very excited to have Wally back in red for 2024.”
When asked about what he wants to achieve in the 2024 season, Dos Reis said, “I hope everyone will come on this journey with us as we work to achieve our goals and lift trophies for this city.”
Chattanooga Red Wolves SC will begin their 2024 season on the road against Lexington SC on Saturday, March 15th before returning to CHI Memorial Stadium for their home opener on Saturday, March 30th. Season tickets are available to purchase online.
