Sofyan Amrabat has insisted the Manchester United dressing room remains fully behind manager Erik ten Hag, despite reports suggesting the Dutch boss is facing a crisis behind the scenes.
Ten Hag has been accused of losing up to half of the United dressing room – allegations which the manager has strongly denied – but there was no sign of unrest on Wednesday evening as United roared to a 2-1 win over Chelsea that could have easily been more emphatic.
After the game, Amrabat made it clear there is no shortage of support for Ten Hag from within.
“He is a fantastic coach,” Amrabat told beIN Sports. “Of course, I worked with him several years ago and already in that moment he was a fantastic manager. But now, he’s one of the best in the world. He’s more experienced. He’s done a fantastic job everywhere he went.
“He’s a fantastic coach and we are all behind him.”
Ten Hag himself praised his players for keeping focused heading into the game and picking up a well-deserved three points.
“It hasn’t felt like a crisis for us,” the United boss stressed. “We’ve kept calm, worked on the process and we know where we have to build and what we have to build on.
“We’re going in the right direction, we don’t get distracted from criticism around us, we are very critical on ourselves and know we are not quickly satisfied, we want to do better.
“If we do things badly, we want to put that right and want to keep going in the process. The season is long, we have to improve a lot if we want to be successful, but this team is capable of that.”
