Arizona State

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Arizona soccer team posted its second win in Pac-12 play on Sunday afternoon, defeating Utah 1-0 on the road. Arizona improves to 5-8-5 and 2-6-2 in conference while Utah falls to 6-7-6 and 2-5-3 in the Pac-12.

The lone goal of the match came in the 37th minute when Nyota Katembo sent a strong shot past the keeper from the right side of the box that was deflected into the goal off of a Utah defender.

Hope Hisey and the Wildcat defense put on a display with Hisey tracking down nine saves and recording her fifth shutout of the season. Sunday was the 24th shutout of Hisey’s career.

Although Utah got 20 shots off in the match, Arizona’s defense held strong and was in control for the majority of the second half. Utah had 15 shots in the final 45 minutes, but it wasn’t enough to get them on the board.

Arizona returns to action for its regular-season finale Friday, Nov. 3 at 7:00 pm to take on Arizona State in Tucson.
