Blue Devils Set for NWSL Playoffs


DURHAM – Of the six teams in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) playoffs kicking off Friday, Oct. 20, five of those squads feature Duke women’s soccer standouts on their 2023 roster.  

Those Blue Devils earning NWSL playoff bids were Tess Boade (NC Courage), Mackenzie Pluck (Angel City), Lily Nabet (Angel City), Quinn (OL Reign), Mia Gyau (San Diego) and Imani Dorsey (NJ/NY Gotham).  

The playoffs get started Oct. 20 at 10 p.m. (ET) with fifth-seeded Angel City FC traveling to fourth-seeded OL Reign live on Paramount+.  Third-seeded NC Courage will host sixth-seeded Gotham on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m., on CBS Sports Network in Cary, N.C.  

The winner of the Angel City/OL Reign match advances to face top-seeded San Diego, while the winner of the Gotham/Courage match will take on second-seeded Portland.  Both semifinal matches will be played Sunday, Nov. 5.  The finals are slated to be contested Nov. 11 at 8 p.m., on CBS and Paramount+.
