Right-sided winger Malen, 24, has enjoyed a strong start to the season in Germany, scoring four times and contributing two more in his first seven outings.
Klopp has long been interested in the Netherlands international, even before he joined Dortmund from PSV Eindhoven in 2021.
However, Bild say because Malen’s Dortmund contract runs until 2026, it would take at least £52million to tempt them into a sale.

Malen does have some experience of English football, having spent two years in Arsenal‘s academy ranks between 2015 and 2017.
The Gunners sold him to PSV in August 2017, where he impressed with 55 goals and 24 assists in 116 outings for the Dutch club.
He was quickly written off after netting just five Bundesliga goals in his first season at Dortmund in 2021-22, but has since grown into his role.
At 24, Malen has plenty of time to develop his game and increase in value.
Klopp already has plenty of exciting attacking options at his disposal, as is coming to the fore this season.
A ‘Fab Five’ of Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo has already impressed during the early weeks of the season.
