May 15, 2023 – United Soccer League One (USL1) – Forward Madison FC News Release
After a quick 5 day turn around, Forward Madison will finally be returning home to Breese. After a 2-0 win against North Carolina FC on the road, Forward Madison will transition into hosting Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC on Thursday night at 7pm CT.
Undefeated, Forward Madison enters Thursday’s match in 5th place, but with fewer games played this season than all but two USL League One squads. Northern Colorado sits in 8th place after a big win against One Knoxville SC this past weekend. In 2022, Forward Madison had two wins and one draw against Northern Colorado.

Isidro Martinez: Isidro Martinez has been a key player for Forward Madison’s midfield so far this season. With his ability to not only get out of crowded areas of the field to switch it and create opportunities in the attack, Martinez also is consistently strong defending in the middle of the field. Coming off of a Goal of the Week candidate this past weekend in North Carolina, look for Martinez to continue his run of great play at Breese Stevens Field.
Mitch Osmond: The captain was on the scoresheet for the first time in 2023 with a header off of a corner against North Carolina FC. Pitching another clean sheet, the FMFC defense is top of the league statistically, led by Osmond. With both squads coming into Thursday’s match on short rest, it’s imperative that Osmond and the FMFC defense continue to shut down opposing attackers early and often.

Northern Colorado Attack VS Forward Madison Attack
With both teams having a similar record for the amount of goals scored, the attacking side for both clubs will be very important in this matchup. Breaking down the defense will be a huge role for the attackers as the defense for Northern Colorado and Forward Madison have been strengths for both teams. With players such as Chaney and Gebhard up top, Forward Madison’s attack will bring speed and strength into the game.
