May 8, 2023 – United Soccer League One (USL1) News Release
TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced that North Carolina FC’s John Bradford has been named the League One Coach of the Month for April. The third-year head coach has helped North Carolina FC to its best start through six matches since 2011.
Bradford led North Carolina FC to a league-best 4-0-1 record and 13 points in an unbeaten April. His side conceded 1.49 fewer goals than expected and outscored opponents 10-4 while picking up three points from losing positions. NCFC defeated Omaha and Greenville and held Charlotte to a 1-1 draw.
“This award is a recognition of the work our entire staff and group of players has put in during the month of April,” Bradford said. “All of us know it will take each member of our group to achieve our goals this season and we’re focusing on enjoying the process, each training and game at a time.
“The results in April have been a blend of gutsy road performances and some quality results at home. The guys are happy with the results but eager to build on them with new challenges in May and beyond.”
Bradford has been named Coach of the Month at least once in each of his first three seasons at the helm in Cary. Bradford was selected as League One’s Coach of the Month by the USL League One Technical Committee.
