Man Utd ‘pushing’ more than Bayern for Bundesliga striker as journalist reveals price drop from €100m

Man Utd target Randall Kolo Muani runs after the ball

Manchester United are ‘pushing most’ for Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani, despite the France international holding ‘positive’ talks with Bayern Munich.

A striker is right at the top of Ten Hag’s priority list for the summer with Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos among the players linked.

Cristiano Ronaldo left the club by mutual consent at the end of November and Man Utd had to wait until January to replace him with Wout Weghorst arriving on loan until the end of the season from Championship side Burnley.

Weghorst, who is yet to score a Premier League goal since joining, is unlikely to be part of Ten Hag’s long-term plans at Old Trafford, while the future of injury-prone Martial is also up in the air.

Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenburg claims Bayern have held ‘positive talks’ with Kolo Muani’s representatives, adding that ‘the real price tag is expected to be lower than €100m + bonus’.

But Plettenburg quickly tweeted again to insist that Manchester United are ‘pushing the most’ for the 24-year-old at this stage, with ‘his management sounding out the market’.

When asked about reports linking him with a move away from Frankfurt, Kolo Muani told L’Equipe in March: “We talk about it a lot already, but I try to be focused on my club. We continue our performances and we will see this summer. Afterwards, I always dreamed of playing in big clubs.

“I thought I was going to need some time to adapt, maybe a year. But everything exploded. Either way, I’m ready for any challenge,” he stated, “I ask the club to get me my statistics on my matches each time.”

“I share this with my physical trainer to know what to improve. I do a lot of goals and assists, but it’s not…
