Jonjo Shelvey blasts Newcastle ‘WHINGEBAGS’ following Nottingham Forest’s home defeat to the Magpies… but assures his former team-mates he means it ‘in a jokey way’

The Forest midfielder played for the Tyneside club for five years, before joining his new team in this year’s January transfer window.

Shelvey’s former manager, Eddie Howe, was asked for his reaction and said: ‘It’s a difficult one about what goes on the pitch – even I don’t know what goes on the pitch but certainly, I’ve only got positive things to say about Jonjo.’

Discussing Forest’s performance in the match, Shelvey said he thought the team ‘battled hard’.
