Comets Bring Back European Futsal Star Mads Falck

Comets Crash Wave 10-4 Saturday Night

March 17, 2023 – Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)Kansas City Comets News Release

The Kansas City Comets have announced the signing of Denmark National Futsal Team player Mads Falck to a one-year contract. Per team and league policies, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Falck returns to the Comets for the remainder of this season after playing for the Comets in the 2012-13 MISL season. In that season, Falck helped the Comets to a deep playoff run tallying 10 goals and eight assists in 31 games before falling to the Baltimore Blast in the MISL Finals. He most recently played with Swedish futsal side Skoftebyn IF.

“Coming back is a great opportunity for me and I’m looking forward to it,” Falck said. “I enjoyed being here so much last time I was here, but I always felt that I’ve had unfinished business and I really want to come back and make a big impact on the team.”

Falck is a two-time MVP winner and four-time top scorer in the Danish league, where he helped Futsal Gentofte win seven league titles in Denmark. The goal-scoring machine earned MVP honors once again when he moved to Swedish side Orebro FC in 2021 and was the league’s top scorer.

Indoor soccer has evolved quite a bit since the 32-year-old last played for the Comets in 2013, but he is confident that he will adapt his technical and tactical abilities to the indoor game.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how the game has evolved since I was here last time. What I do remember is that the game is played with high intensity and speed. Futsal is also a very fast and physically demanding game so I think I will be able to cope quite well.”

Falck brings international futsal experience playing Champions League as well as World Cup and Euro Cup qualifiers. With the Denmark National Futsal Team, Falck has scored 45 goals in 67 games.

“I’m very thrilled to get this opportunity to come back and help the Comets and to be a part of a playoff campaign is just amazing for me,” Falck said. “I really look forward to this experience and being part of the Comets family again.”
