ATLANTA – Atlanta United today announced it has sent forward Jackson Conway on loan to USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC for the 2023 season.

“We feel that this is a great opportunity for Jackson to continue his development as a forward in a competitive USL Championship,” Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said. “We will be following his progress and wish him the best this season in Phoenix.”

Conway signed as a Homegrown player for Atlanta United on Dec. 3, 2020. On his First Team debut on Dec. 16, 2020 in Concacaf Champions League play, Conway scored the game-winning goal against Club América in Atlanta’s 1-0 victory in the second leg of the quarterfinals. Conway made his MLS debut during the 2021 season and scored his first career MLS goal on July 8 at Nashville to help Atlanta United secure a 2-2 draw. He has appeared in 11 MLS matches with two starts over the past two seasons.

Conway, 21, proved to be a consistent goal scorer at the USL Championship level while playing with Atlanta United 2. He scored five goals in 2019 and followed that by scoring six goals in only 10 appearances during the shortened 2020 campaign. The striker scored a career-high 11 goals in 25 appearances (24 starts) in 2022.

Atlanta maintains the right to recall Conway during MLS transfer windows.
