March 16, 2023 – National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) – North Carolina Courage News Release
CARY, N.C. – Head coach Sean Nahas and the North Carolina Courage today announce the addition of Victoria Boardman as a full-time assistant coach for the 2023 season. Boardman was on staff with the San Diego Wave last season and has been a U.S. Youth National Team network scout since 2020.
Boardman will assist in all aspects of the club while specializing in video analytics. She becomes the fourth full-time assistant on Nahas’ staff, joining returners Nathan Thackeray and Emma Thomson along with fellow newcomer Fabrice Gautrat. This second off-season addition brings the Courage full-time technical staff to five members alongside performance director Mike Young and four full-time team operations and player experience staff members.
“I’m grateful and excited for the opportunity to join the Courage staff. I’m humbled to join Sean, his exceptional technical team and support staff. Everyone at the club has made me feel so welcome,” Boardman said.
“I, and some of the staff, have known Vic for years and have held her in high regard for what she does and her path. She has great attention to details, is passionate about development and a wonderful person to have around our players. We have always wanted to work together and bringing her here to the courage is exciting. Her knowledge will be a big asset for our staff and players,” Nahas said.
Boardman helped the Wave to a playoff berth in their first season of competition in 2022. Prior to joining the Wave, she was a head coach for BEACH Futbol Club in California for over four years. She earned her USSF A license in 2018 and achieved her UEFA B license in 2021. She graduated from Long Beach State in May 2020 with a degree in kinesiology and exercise science.
