ATLANTA – Atlanta United 2 today announced that it has signed defender Fuad “Ade” Adeniyi to an MLS NEXT Pro contract for the 2023 season, pending league and federation approval.

Adeniyi, 28, joins ATL UTD after playing last season with South Georgia Tormenta FC in USL League One. After joining the team in June, following a stint with Tormenta FC 2, the defender made 19 total appearances for Tormenta’s first team as they won the 2022 title in USL League One. His debut in League One came on June 12, 2022 against Hailstorm FC, while his first start came the following week. He recorded one assist in his time with Tormenta in a 5-5 draw against Greenville Triumph. His lone goal last season came on October 1 against Richmond in a 1-1 draw.


The London, England native spent his collegiate years with the University of Mobile (NAIA) before transferring to UC Santa Barbara. During his time with UCSB he helped the team make a Sweet 16 appearance in 2015.
