FC Cincinnati 2 Announce 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Schedule

MLS NEXT Pro today announced the full 2023 regular season schedule, which is slated to begin on Friday, March 24 and concludes on Decision Day on September 24. The majority of all MLS NEXT Pro season matches will be available on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app while the remaining matches will stream live on the MLS NEXT Pro website.

FC Cincinnati 2 will open their second season in MLS NEXT Pro against Toronto FC II on Monday, March 27 at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m. ET. The Orange and Blue will play 12 additional home matches at the venue including two of the team’s first three matches of the year. Home matches at Scudamore Field at NKU Soccer Stadium will be free of charge.

Seven new MLS affiliated clubs join MLS NEXT Pro this coming season including Eastern Conference opponents Atlanta United 2, Crown Legacy FC (Charlotte FC), Huntsville City FC (Nashville SC) and New York Red Bulls II. The Orange and Blue will face all four clubs in a home and away series starting with Crown Legacy FC on March 31.

FC Cincinnati 2 will also host one regular season home match at TQL Stadium on Sunday, August 27 against New York City FC II. The mid-summer fixture will be the second match for the 2’s at TQL Stadium following last year’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Columbus Crew 2 in which the Orange and Blue ousted their in-state rivals in a penalty shootout.

The Orange and Blue close out the regular season playing three of their last four matches away from home including a Decision Day match against Orlando City B at Osceola Heritage Park. All Eastern Conference matches on September 24 will kick off at 2 p.m. ET to finalize playoff spots and seeding.

MLS NEXT Pro is also rolling out a new, expanded playoff format that includes a pick-your-opponent element through the first two rounds. Two division champions and five clubs with the next highest point total in each conference will advance to the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs which begin on the weekend of September 29. FC Cincinnati 2 remain one of 13 Eastern Conference teams and join Atlanta United 2, Chicago Fire FC II, Columbus Crew 2, Huntsville City FC, Inter Miami CF II and Orlando City B competing in the Central Division.
