Sergi Canos has demonstrated his gratitude to his Brentford team-mates for their celebration honouring the player’s late mother who passed away earlier in the week in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
Canos was shipped out on loan to Greek side Olympiacos in the January transfer window but clearly maintains a close relationship with his colleagues in London.
Brentford striker Ivan Toney dedicated his celebration to Canos’ mother after equalising against Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday, as the Premier League leaders suffered another slip in their race for the title.
Toney ran towards their bench and was surrounded by his team-mate’s as he held up a blue Brentford shirt donned with the words ‘we are all with you Sergi’, as well as a love heart.
Canos responded by tweeting ‘You are THANK YOU’ with a broken heart and a sad face emoji as he recognised the efforts of his Brentford friends who had decided to send a message to him as he deals with tough personal circumstances.
