Forward Madison FC Unveils 2023 Preseason Schedule

MADISON, WI: Forward Madison has released its 2023 preseason schedule, complete with four games against quality opposition. FMFC players will return to Madison on February 7th to start the 2023 campaign. The ‘Mingos will kick off the preseason with a trip to Minnesota to take on the Minnesota United MLS Next Pro (MNUFC2) squad on February 17th. MNUFC2 finished just outside the MLS Next Pro playoffs last season, after concluding the season with a record of 9-5-10.


On February 24th, Forward Madison will travel to Illinois to face off against the Chicago Fire MLS Next Pro squad, Chicago Fire II. Last season, the Chicago Fire II finished right behind MNUFC2, with a record of 8-5-11.

The ‘Mingos will play their final road preseason match on March 3rd against USL Championship squad, Indy Eleven. Indy finished 9th in the Eastern Conference of USL Championship last season.

Forward Madison’s final preseason match will take place on March 11th against DePaul University. The match will take place at Breese Stevens Field and will be open to Season Ticket Holders only.

“The 2023 preseason schedule allows our squad to develop chemistry and get important match minutes ahead of the USL League One season,” Head Coach Matt Glaeser said.

Coach Glaeser is entering his second season at Forward Madison, looking to lead the squad to the USL League One playoffs. FMFC returns key players Mitch Osmond, Derek Gebhard, Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu and Nazeem Bartman while adding newcomers Stephen Payne, Timmy Mehl, Jacob Crull, Christian Chaney, Aiden Mesias, Jayden Onen, and Mauro Chichero.

All preseason matches will be closed to the public except for the match against DePaul University on March 11th, which is a Season Ticket Holder exclusive. Stay tuned to Forward Madison FC’s social media accounts for preseason match updates.
