Cavalry FC Extends the Contracts of Ali Musse and Myer Bevan

Calgary, AB – Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League has extended the contracts of midfielder Sergio Camargo and forward Joe Mason. Camargo has signed a 2-year extension for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, whilst the club has activated their 2023 option for Mason. Both players have significantly contributed to the club’s goalscoring record to date and look to add more in 2023 and beyond.


As one of the clubs’ inaugural players having signed in 2019, Sergio Camargo will be suiting up for his fifth season with Cavalry. Camargo previously led the club in goals scored, having scored 15 goals, and providing seven assists in 69 appearances across all competitions. In 2022 he scored two goals and provided one assist before being ruled out due to injury. Both goals contributed to the club’s biggest scorelines this past season in matches over both Valour FC and Halifax Wanderers.

Joe Mason enters his third season and is now the club’s leading goalscorer, having 16 goals and two assists in 38 appearances across all competitions after joining the club in 2021. The English-born striker scored eight goals and provided one assist in 2022 in 22 appearances throughout the season. After extending his contract, Mason will push to add to his record with plenty of goals to come in the upcoming season.

“Both Sergio and Joe give us excellent attacking depth and quality,”says Cavalry FC Head Coach and General Manager, Tommy Wheeldon Jr. “At one point or another, they have both led our club in goal scoring and I know that they are eager to add more this coming season. Aside from their quality on the pitch, they are both terrific competitors and great characters in the locker room and within the community.”
