Newcastle will consider offers for Allan Saint-Maximin should they finalise a deal for Everton‘s Anthony Gordon.

Newcastle are being rivalled by Chelsea for the 21-year-old Toffees winger, who is said to be valued at £60million.

That price is well above Newcastle’s estimate and they had initially proposed striker Chris Wood as a potential makeweight prior to him joining Nottingham Forest on loan.

When asked about whether there had been any developments regarding the acquisition of Gordon after Newcastle’s 1-0 win over Southampton in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, Eddie Howe gave nothing away.

‘I can tell you absolutely nothing,’ he said. ‘I’ve been preparing for this game for the last two days.’

Newcastle have been flying recently but Howe is looking to bolster his attack, with his side recently struggling to be clinical in front of goal.

Gordon, who has three Premier League goals to his name this season, has fallen a little out of favour at Goodison Park amid the team’s recent struggles.
