Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte will leave the Premier League club when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Conte joined the north Londoners in November 2021 after a brief, but poor, spell in charge for Nuno Espirito Santo.
After a stuttery start, the Italian guided his side to a top-four finish ahead of arch-rivals Arsenal.
He only penned an 18-month contract, which has resulted in plenty of rumours about his future.
Conte has often complained about his squad not being good enough and he has given the impression that he is a ticking time bomb ready to resign.
The 53-year-old is very much a manager who stays at a club for the short term, which made his move to Tottenham quite baffling given their unlikelihood to win a trophy.
A return to Juventus has frequently been rumoured, though their difficult situation which has led to a 15-point deduction in Serie A probably means Conte is not interested.
Given Spurs’ poor form and dire style of play, it is unclear whether or not the supporters will be bothered if Conte does not sign a new contract.
Talks were expected to happen during the World Cup but it now looks like chairman Daniel Levy does not want the experienced Italian to stay on.
As quoted by FCInter1908, Di Marzio said: “President Levy does not like the frequent jibes and he wants a club where he can win.
“Not being able to compete for certain targets and not having the same feeling as in the past, without cover from Paratici, they [Conte and Tottenham] will part ways.
“I still don’t know his next club and perhaps, before returning abroad, he will think twice after what he said about his family.”
He added to Sky Sports: “The news I can tell you with certainty is that Antonio Conte will leave Tottenham at the end of the season. There was no spark, his contract is expiring and the club has not asked him for a renewal.”
Conte has taken charge of 64 Spurs matches, averaging 1.8 points per game.
