Contracts

Coventry City goalkeeper Ben Wilson’s deal has been extended until 2025.

Northampton Town have given defender Aaron McGowan a new contract which will also run until 2025.

Villareal winger Alex Baena has signed a long term deal which will expire in 2028.

Experienced striker Mark Uth has agreed a new contract with 1. FC Koln which runs out in 2025.

Athletic Bilbao forward Asier Vallalibre is another to agree to stay until 2025.

Augsburg midfielder Fredrik Jensen is also staying put until 2025.

Crystal Palace’s Spanish goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has added on a year to his deal to take him up until the end of next season.

Newcastle United have re-signed Loris Karius until the end of the season.

Borussia Dortmund teenager (?) Youssoufa Moukoko has signed a new contract which will run until 2026.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have given young midfielder Joe Hodge a new contract which will expire at the end of the 2026/27 season.

 


Transfers

Arsenal have paid £21m plus future add-ons for Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Chelsea’s spending spree shows no sign of slowing down as they have paid PSV Eindhoven over £30m for England U-21 international winger Noni Madueke.

Aston Villa have sold Danny Ings to West Ham United for an initial fee of £12m, with a further £3m to come if the Hammers avoid relegation this season.

Atletico Madrid have paid an initial fee of just £2.6m to sign former Manchester United forward Memphis Depay from Barcelona. The deal also gives Barca an option to sign Yannick Carrasco from Atleti.

Leicester City have signed FC Copenhagen left-back Victor Kristiansen for around £17m.

Newcastle United have allowed former Leeds United striker Chris Wood to join Nottingham Forest on loan. The deal also includes an option to make the move for the New Zealand international into a permanent move.

Benfica have signed Goncalo Guedes on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The English Football League have placed a transfer embargo on Sheffield United after they failed to make payments for a previous transfer. The Blades will be unable to sign any players “without the written prior consent of the league” until they make all outstanding payments.

Brentford have recalled Tariqe Fosu from a loan with Stoke City and instead sent him to Rotherham United on loan.
