West Ham have agreed to sell Craig Dawson to Wolves in a £3.3million deal – but they won’t allow the defender to leave until next week.

Wolves’ move for the 32-year-old defender angered Hammers boss David Moyes when their bid came in ahead of the teams’ vital relegation six-pointer at Molineux last Saturday.

Julen Lopetegui‘s team won the match 1-0 to leave West Ham in the relegation zone.

However, West Ham have now agreed to the deal despite Dawson starting six Premier League games in succession prior to the trip to Wolves.

Dawson, who arrived at the London Stadium from Watford in 2021, following a loan spell there, has made 13 appearances in all this season.

Centre back Dawson, 32, is originally from the north-west of England and has been looking to leave West Ham for a while, because he wants to move nearer home for family reasons.

‘I might bid for one of them after the game and see how it goes,’ said Moyes ahead of the Wolves game about their approach for Dawson.

‘Is it destabilising? By the way it is, yeah. Let’s be fair, Wolves tried to buy Daws in the summer and we said no at that time.’

West Ham face another crunch relegation clash at home to Everton on Saturday, while Wolves have to travel to Manchester City on Sunday.
