Good riddance! Adam Lallana tells £27m Arsenal signing Leandro Trossard Brighton have ‘got enough without you’ and says ‘5-1, 4-1 and 3-0, we’re coping already’ in a parting shot after bitter ending

Brighton midfielder Adam Lallana has insisted his side have ‘got enough’ without Leandro Trossard after the winger joined Arsenal for £27 million on Friday.

The 28-year-old left the Seagulls after a falling out with manager Roberto De Zerbi, whish was revealed by Sportsmail, that saw the Belgium international training alone after making it clear he wanted to leave the club.

Brighton will receive a guaranteed figure of around £20m with the remaining £7m made up of achievable incentives – and the Gunners have handed Trossard the No.19 shirt – previously worn by Nicolas Pepe.

Lallana felt Trossard’s absence would not be felt at the South Coast side amid their stellar recent form, as he told Sky Sports: ‘You only need to look at the last three results without him, 5-1, 4-1 and 3-0.’

The striker was first omitted from the Brighton squad ahead of their 3-0 win over Liverpool due to concerns over his attitude after he reportedly boarded a Eurostar train back to Belgium.

The 34-year-old continued: ‘Players can leave Brighton, but we’ve got enough without them.

‘We had enough without [Yves] Bissouma, [Marc] Cucurella, Ben White, Dan Burn, when Neal [Maupay] moved on, so if Leo moves on, we’ll cope. We’re coping already.’

Despite the departures listed by Lallana, which Moises Caicedo could soon join following a £55 million bid from Chelsea, De Zerbi’s side have been flying this season and currently sit seventh in the Premier League, above the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea and just three points off fifth-place Tottenham.
