Liverpool are reportedly among several Premier League clubs involved in a “mad chase” to sign Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka on a free transfer.
The Reds are expected to be busy in the transfer market over the next couple of months as they are in need of a rebuild.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been one of the Premier League’s disappointing teams this term as they are already out of the title race.
Liverpool also face a tough task to qualify for the Champions League as they are seven points adrift of fourth-placed Man Utd.
They are expected to focus on signing new midfielders in the summer, with Jude Bellingham among their main targets.
But they could also do with some reinforcements elsewhere and Ndicka is one player they are now being linked with.

“There’s a mad, mad chase on all across Europe for the 23-year-old,” Jacobs told The Football Terrace.
“Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea potentially, even with the arrival of Badiashile and of course Wesley Fofana.
“Liverpool have kept an eye on him, and then, a whole variety of others across Europe. Paris Saint-Germain is another option.”
Liverpool are seemingly looking to plan for the future as they are targeting several youthful players.
They are also said to have targeted 18-year-old Andreas Schjelderup. He has netted ten goals in 17 outings for Nordsjælland in the league this season.
The English club have failed to get him though as it has been revealed that the teenager has opted to sign for Benfica in a deal worth around £12.5m.
Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Liverpool “had meetings” with the view to sign Schjelderup.
“Liverpool wanted Schjelderup. They had meetings. They spoke to the people close to the player to sign Schjelderup. Not now, but in the summer of 2023,” Romano said via his YouTube channel.
“Liverpool, a super club, wanted the player. But the player decided to go for…
