Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Liverpool, and Tottenham are all set to battle it out to sign a ‘world-class defender’ next year, according to TEAMtalk.
The defender in question is Inter Milan and Slovakia centre-half Milan Skriniar, who is also attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Inter paid €34million to sign Skriniar from Sampdoria in 2017 and he has blossomed into one of the best defenders in world football.
He is out of contract at the end of the season and it is no surprise to see so many elite clubs monitoring his situation.
Inter CEO Beppe Marotta recently said he hopes the “top-class” player extends his stay with the Serie A side.
“As far as Skriniar, who is absolutely top-class both on and off the pitch, I hope we can agree a new deal very much,” he said.

“Most clubs who are now showing an interest did not believe that he would be leaving Inter, but their attempts to tie him to a new contract have thus far not proven successful.
“Inter still believe that they will convince him to stay but he will very soon be able to field those pre-contract offers.
“Paris Saint-Germain were always and still are, but now all the Premier League top clubs are interested – the chance to land one of the world’s best defenders at 27, does not come along too often.
“So even someone like Manchester City, who don’t have a new centre-half at the top of their wanted list, are ready to put an offer to him. But so are Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle.
“The battle for Skriniar will be fascinating if he decides to leave.”
Chelsea have been linked with Skriniar for a while now and are also reportedly keen on his club team-mate Nicolo Barella.
Barella would reportedly cost around €60million, which could be a good deal considering the fact Chelsea could lose N’Golo Kante and Jorginho at…
