UCLA Edges WSOC For NCAA Title, 3-2 In 2OT


Cary, N.C.—UCLA overcame a 2-0 deficit in the final 10 minutes of regulation, then scored in the second overtime period to beat North Carolina, 3-2, in the NCAA women’s soccer final on Monday night at WakeMed Soccer Park.

After Tar Heel goalkeeper Emmie Allen made a diving save on a shot by UCLA’s Ally Cook, Mariacarmen Reyes collected the rebound and scored to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead at the 106:40 mark. 

Avery Patterson scored two second-half goals to give the Tar Heels a 2-0 lead with just over 15 minutes remaining in the second half.
