THE COLLEGE CUP FIELD

There are three No. 1 seeds – UCLA, Florida State and Alabama – and No. 2 seed North Carolina in the 2022 College Cup. North Carolina, Florida State and UCLA rank 1-2-3 in number of all-time College Cup appearances with 31, 13 and 12, respectively. Alabama is making its first appearance. Florida State, North Carolina and UCLA are also the only three schools to hold the No. 1 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches poll this season. Florida State was the preseason No. 1 before North Carolina took over the top spot after the first two weeks of play. UCLA’s win over North Carolina and No. Duke put the Bruins at No. 1 for the remainder of the regular season. Alabama has ranked as high as No. 3 in the coaches poll and was No. 1 on Top Drawer Soccer’s poll for three weeks. Florida State has been ranked No. 1 on Top Drawer Soccer for the past four weeks.
