New England Revolution Academy Highlights: June 6, 2022

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy’s four teams earned six wins across eight games played over the weekend as they traveled to face Cedar Stars Academy – Bergen and BW Gottschee Academy.


The U-19s brought home two wins, earning a 4-0 shutout over Cedar Stars Academy and a 2-1 win over BW Gottschee. Jack Burkhardt (2005 – Sutton, Mass.) and Tyler Flowers (2005 – Sharon, Mass.) each scored on Saturday while Max Weinstein (2004 – Montpelier, V.T.) and Kevin Christensen (2006 – Natick, Mass.) combined for the clean sheet. Ezra Widman (2005 – New York, Ny.) tallied twice on Sunday to secure his third and fourth goals on the season in his team’s 2-1 win over BW Gottschee.

The U-17s went 1-1-0, falling 2-0 to Cedar Stars on Saturday and winning 2-1 over BW Gottschee on Sunday where Giuseppe Ciampa (2006 – Westwood, Mass.) and Olger Escobar (2006 – Lynn, Mass.) both scored to secure their team’s eighth win of the year.

Cristiano Carlos (2008 – Chicopee, Mass.) scored the game-winner in the U-15s’ 1-0 victory over Cedar Stars on Saturday while Mesud Ramic (2008 – Weare, N.H.) and Cristiano Oliveira (2008 – Somerville, Mass.) both scored during Sunday’s 2-0 win over BW Gottschee. Goalkeeper Sean Cory (2008 – Wrentham, Mass.) started both games to secure two clean sheets, bringing his team’s total to five on the season.

The U-14s played to one win and one loss over the weekend as Judah Siqueira (2009 – South Easton, Mass.) scored in his team’s 1-0 victory over Cedar Stars on Saturday before falling 1-0 against BW Gottschee on Sunday.

All four Academy teams return home to host Toronto FC Academy on Saturday, November 26 at Gillette Stadium in the final matches before MLS NEXT Fest kicks off on December 1. Peyton Miller (2007 – Unionville, Conn.) was called up to the U-16 U.S. Men’s Youth National Team last Wednesday ahead of the U-16 Football Federations Cup in Albir, Spain.

U-19 defender Jack Burkhardt (2005 – Sutton, Mass.) scored his third goal of the season in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Cedar Stars Academy.
