New York Red Bulls sign free agent Cory Burke

The New York Red Bulls have signed free agent striker Cory Burke to a two-year contract with a club option for 2025.

The 30-year-old joins the Red Bulls after playing five seasons with the Philadelphia Union, where he managed 25 goals and eight assists in 93 MLS appearances.

He recorded an additional seven appearances in the MLS Cup playoffs, most recently scoring a goal in the 3-1 victory over NYCFC to propel the Union to lift the Eastern Conference trophy and reach the MLS Cup final.

“We are very happy to have Cory join our club,” said NYRB’s head of sport Jochen Schneider in a release. “He is a strong striker that has a lot of experience in MLS and knows our playing style very well and we are looking forward to having him with us.”

“You know when playing against the Red Bulls, it is similar tools to the way I play.,” says Burke. They like to press and that is a big part of my game and I think to come here is going to be really good for me to play with these guys. I like to press the ball and close the space down and they get a lot of chances by pressing the ball.”
