LOS ANGELES –– Northwestern notched a 2-1 win against Vanderbilt Friday night at Wallis Annenberg Stadium.
The win improved Northwestern’s record to 16-4-2 overall, tying a program record for wins, and advanced the Wildcats to the Sweet 16, the farthest they’ve ever advanced.

How it Happened
Northwestern opened the scoring when Josie Aulicino scored her ninth goal of the season in the 54th minute, assisted by Ingrid Falls.

The Wildcats tacked on another score on a goal from Bridget Mitchell — the first of her career — in the 81st minute, assisted by Aulicino for her tenth assist of the season.

The Commodores cut into the Wildcat lead to make it a 2-1 game on Ella Shamburger’s 83rd-minute goal.
The Wildcats defense stood tall for the remaining seven minutes to see out the victory.
