Vanderbosch was one of 11 first-year players, and the only netminder, who earned the All-ACC Freshman Team recognition.
She started 15-of-the-16 contests she played in for the Orange this fall. Vanderbosch made her collegiate debut against Connecticut on Aug. 21 and then stepped into the starting role against Lafayette on Aug. 25. Vanderbosch eventually made 15 consecutive appearances with the Syracuse first string.
Vanderbosch finished her rookie campaign with a 7-6-2 overall record, three shutouts, a 1.02 goals-against average and a save percentage of .815. She posted shutouts in wins against Siena, Eastern Michigan and Cornell. Vanderbosch had a career-best nine saves in a 2-2 tie at nationally-ranked Virginia.
A scholastic standout at Lancaster High School (N.Y.), Vanderbosch was the first goalkeeper to receive All-Western New York State Player of the Year honors in 2019 and the initial all-region selection from the Lancaster program. She was a two-time First-Team All-State honoree.
Vanderbosch is enrolled in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse.
Honorees were selected based on balloting of the conference’s head coaches.
