Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been slammed after leaked footage emerged of him criticising Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
Aubameyang departed Arsenal earlier this year to join FC Barcelona on a free transfer.
His exit came after he had a major fallout with Arteta. He was stripped of the captain’s armband at Arsenal after he regularly turned up late for training and had a bad attitude.
Arteta made the big decision to free Aubameyang and this benefitted the Gunners in the long run. His youthful and enthusiastic team sit top of the Premier League after nine games.
Aubameyang clearly felt bitter about his Arsenal exit. After his move to Barcelona, he was videoed claiming that Arteta “can’t deal with big characters”.
The experienced striker has now come out and addressed the video. He has explained that at the time of the recording “he had a lot of bad feelings” in him but he now “wishes all his old guys well”.
Ex-Italy and AS Roma star Antonio Cassano is not sold on Aubameyang’s explanation, though.

“When Arteta took Arsenal, in a general disaster, there were many players among that, and he was there too.
“Does Aubameyang consider himself a champion? But he doesn’t know how to trap the ball.
“Now Aubameyang can speak as well… people wake up in the morning and start talking about football. Now football is good for everyone.
“Aubameyang, two dribbles with his left foot every now and then, fouls, every now and then he stops the ball well.
“Goals, goals, goals ok … try to play football instead of talking about Arteta, who is a manager and who has a young team, nothing special, and is first in the most important league in the world. For me it’s madness.”
Aubameyang now finds himself back in the Premier League as he joined Chelsea on deadline day from Barcelona.
He has enjoyed a positive start at the Blues as he has netted three goals in five appearances.
Ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Rob Green thinks Aubameyang is capable of scoring 20 goals for the club this season:
“Aubameyang is a quality finisher and we’ve seen that. He looks confident,” Green said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“In this team, all he has to do is time his runs and he will keep…
