Ligue 1 outfit ‘lead race’ for in-form star who ‘can’t say no to Arsenal’

Arsenal in for Mykhaylo Mudryk

Ligue 1 outfit Nice are reportedly ‘leading the race’ to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk amid interest from Arsenal and Brentford.

Much has been said about Mudryk in recent weeks as he has been gaining more admirers across Europe.

This is understandable as the winger has been in great form for Shakhtar Donetsk at the start of the 2022/23 campaign.

The 21-year-old was involved in three of the Ukrainian side’s four goals as they beat RB Leipzig in the Champions League group stages last month. He also got on the scoresheet in the draw against Celtic.

The Ukraine international has been linked with several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Brentford and Everton in recent weeks.

Ex-Gunners striker Kevin Campbell believes that Mudryk would be “devastating” for Arsenal:

“Arsenal is a very good team. Very good coach. I like the way they play.

“From my side, I can’t say no [to Arsenal], but a transfer is not only my decision.”

But a fresh report from The Sun is suggesting that Nice are currently the team ‘leading the race’ to sign Mudryk.

They state that they are ‘willing to pay £25m plus extras’ for the midfielder. This will not be enough though as Shakhtar are understood to ‘want almost double’ this fee.

It is also said that Arsenal have ‘interest’ in Mudryk but the ‘main English club in the hunt’ are Brentford. Everton and…
