Records: The Miami FC (13-8-9, 48 points); Monterey Bay F.C. (12-14-3, 39 points)

FiveThirtyEight Predictor: MBFC 24%, MIA 48%, Draw 27%

Match Outlook: Coming off of a draw midweek against Phoenix Rising FC, the Union will look for another result on the road against a Miami FC side who is securely in the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference, though still has seeding to play for. Now in a three-way tie for the 7th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, the Crisp and Kelp hold a game in hand on three of the four teams above them. With just five matches left this season, including four on the road, results are at a premium from here on out.

Connections: Monterey Bay F.C. forward Chris Cortez spent the end of last year’s campaign with Miami FC when he signed with the Eastern Conference side ahead of the 2021 USL Championship playoffs and scored one goal in four appearances.

Additional Notes: In what will be the first-ever meeting between the out-of-conference foes, the Union will look to continue its push for a spot in the Western Conference playoffs. Monterey Bay F.C. is 4-9-0 so far this season on the road, while Miami FC is 4-5-6 as hosts.
